On May 22, The European Commission published the new Agenda for Culture: the\u00a0Creative Europe\u00a0<\/strong>Programme will start for the period 2021-2027 in a post-Brexit Union. Despite many important changes, much still has to be achieved. Several questions related to the music sector remain open and with the members of\u00a0ELMA network, EURICCA\u00a0<\/strong>aims\u00a0to bring them to the attention of European Parliament.<\/p>\n

In this context and following the vote of the European Parliament in favor of\u00a0Music Moves Europe and stepping on\u00a0the\u00a0European Music Day<\/strong>\u00a0events across Europe (F\u00eate Europ\u00e9enne de la Musique) and the\u00a0150th Anniversary of Gioacchino Rossini<\/strong>, a debate on the need to develop\u00a0sustainable and innovative European Policies for Music Sector was organized by\u00a0Silvia Costa<\/strong>, Coordinator of the Group of Socialists and Democrats (S & D) of the Commission for Education and Culture (CULT) and co-sponsored by\u00a0Patrizia Toia<\/strong>, Head of Delegation for Democracy and European Parliament The S & D Group.<\/p>\n

Aside the different European partners of the CULT\u00a0\u00a0Commission and other collaborators of the European Commission (DG EAC & DG CONNECT),\u00a0 the encounter turned into\u00a0an historic meeting between representatives and colleagues of the European music day networks (EMDA<\/a>) from France (sylvie Canal), Greece (Georges Perot) and Italy (Marco Staccioli) and of course, a great opportunity to interact\u00a0with ELMA since the President of the network, Mr Vincenzo Spera was also invited and present during the sessions.<\/p>\n

Besides and on this occasion, he awarded\u00a0Silvia Costa<\/strong>, Member of the European Parliament\u2019s Committee on\"4760fd3bbb0f862a2ee9d774e7d0cfe9_L\"\u00a0Culture\u00a0<\/strong>with the following motivation:\u201cCommitments, Passion and Dedication to the Music: European Cultural Heritage<\/em>\u201d.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A bottle, made of glass, encloses the message and the\u00a0Assomusica\u00a0<\/strong>Microphone<\/strong>, a symbol of the Association\u2019s will to voice the demands and at the same time an invitation for MEP Costa to take these initiatives forward.<\/p>\n

Silvia Costa is also rapporteur of the Creative Europe Programme which includes many issues carried out by\u00a0Assomusica<\/strong>in all these years. Some of these questions include the need for greater participation of young people in the radio-television broadcasting; the effort to encourage the union between musical industry, live performing and new technologies; music as important instrument against social exclusion; the necessity of politics to valorize and internationalize the Italian music, allowing a greater penetration abroad.<\/p>\n
